Wahala Walahi

All things are possible with God,
all things are possible right here,
in this part of the world – Nigeria,
possible not for all,
but for some special kind of people.
God created all of us as equals,
but some are more equal than others
some kind of people who have the power,
some kind of people with means and money
some kind of people who can change any story.
It just takes a twinkle of an eye
before you can greet “Hi, welcome and bye”
one and two, and three and four,
things have changed,
old things passed away,
all things have become new,
by the time you realize “how far?”
your own friends would have clamped you in a cage.
At every level, money says what it pleases
algebra “no leg is equal to no progress”….
then, you’ll stay put with your legs in a stock
the ideal has now become a matter of luck.
Please sir, can something be done to make things better,
only a little appreciation in the financial?
make sure you see who you need to see,
and you’ll see what you want to see.
They said Corruption is a Nigerian citizen,
they said he lives with the government,
they said he influences the rich and the poor,
in every hook and corner, call him and he’ll appear.
Bribery is the norm, they said she’s here to stay,
she makes the mountains become expressways.
Power is the definition of who you are,
or the blood that runs in you, near or far,
what you know doesn’t really matter,
If you’re lucky to have the right relatives,
all you’ll be seeing will all be positives.
It all depends on who you know,
so the progress principle here goes.
Everything from success to failure
its all trade and batter.
Connections to get you anywhere,
into any office, before any one
forget the law, no one really cares,
because the lawmakers are usually the first lawbreakers
leaders by example.
Yoyo means you are on your own
do your best and make everyone else lick your dust.
See the frustration lines cutting across many faces,
thank God your story is a less sorry one
for when you hear of what others are passing through,
you’ll see that God has been extra good to you.
I wonder if these will ever change.
is there hope? a way out of this cage?
Lord have mercy,
send another Moses to lead us out of this Egypt.
