Obedience to God

from my morning devotional: all who are faithful are obedient, but not all who are obedient are faithful. There are various degrees of obedience which can be classified into three broad groups: No obedience, partial obedience and absolute obedience.

No obedience is total absence of obedience. It is otherwise called disobedience. It runs in the opposite direction of what is expected or commanded. Every disobedient Christian is unfaithful. No disobedient believer has an assurance of heaven, because disobedience is not a virtue., but a vice, commonly found among Gods enemies. Absence of obedience brings total doom.

Partial obedience makes you forfeit the most important thing in your life – e.g: Moses lost his promised land, Abraham lost part of his destiny and King Saul lost his throne.

Total obedience is closely related to perfection. If you can obey God absolutely, you are perfect. If you will be faithful, you must obey God absolutely. When the command is lorical or illogical, convenient, ugent or not, as far as it is from God, you must obey promptly.
