The Harvest truly is plenteous
but the laborers are few
Pray ye therefore, the Lord of the Harvest,
to send laborers into His Harvest.
The Bible is not for discussion
Yet we sit and discuss it.
God wrote His words so we should obey it,
there is no obedience in sitting still.
God can do all things,
You and I can share our Faith.
If you fold your hands and wait,
who will preach to those who never heard?
“Armchair Theologians? or grandstand critics?
Scriptural preaching with no practical application,
All inputs and no output is a deadly decision,
– will lead to rottenness and depression.
A critic, a spectator, are you one?
rather than a revival, you’ll see a reversal,
your walk with God will soon become formal
as you carry around a head full of Bible-knowledge.
Put what you have heard into practice,
its the doing that brings the power.
Be a channel that brings Jesus nearer,
to your friends and family, to your neighbour.
Go ye into all the world,
and preach the gospel to every creature.
**Inspiration – for this poem came as I read chapter 15 of ‘Called to Conquer’ by Trevor Yaxley.
