Its a hard part of the world here – no joke,
if theres no fire, theres no smoke.
The situation here is just suffocating,
and yet the real fire isn’t burning,
when it starts, where do we run?
Problem here, problem there,
Corruption – no one cares,
and if you act like “Jolly just come”
you’ll be sold right in the village youre from,
the real world is to just live in fear.
Is there hope for tomorrow?
I hope it brings joy and not sorrow.
It depends on who wins the next election,
who kills who to take the baton,
its the way things are – to and fro.
In the International School of Corruption (ISC),
we’re ‘second-class upper’, lagging being one nation,
if we work harder, next time, we’ll be first-class.
Success comes not to he who isn’t a-thirst
The travel from bad to worse – more commotion.
Education in this country is just a formality
WAEC and JAMB, mountains before University,
get connected, pray and fast and you’ll get in
while the ‘rich-kids’ just walk and pay-in
Certificates have become formal-commodity.
Study hard and respect your teachers,
further mathematics – the square root for a visa,
for greener, greener pasture country,
where you can live in peace and plenty,
survival of the fittest is the way right here.
Too many seminars – all for what?
Nigeria needs this, Nigeria needs that,
supported by the chop-money anthem
Everyone is looking for a bethlehem,
“get out, stay away”, someone said,
its as simple as that.
